Sky ARTS (First Idea)

This work is my entry for a competition held by the SKY ARTS channel. In this competition, all contestants are to design an animation 20 seconds or less for the ARTS logo, which shows their design abilities and skills, as well as their ideas for the logo based on the given theme. One can use any color in this competition. They have provided me with about 5 music files, but also mentioned that if I need sample music I can choose non-commercial ones to use in my video

I will complete my design by using Adobe AE CS5, Flash CS5 and Photoshop CS5.

Since SKY ARTS is a channel offering music, opera, concerts, dance and others, I think I should first research good background knowledge of this company by investigating before I start my design. I want to fill the animation with a sense of freshness, and use blue skies, white clouds and green scenery as the background. There will be leaves sprouting from the branches of trees, and drifting clouds in the sky. The animation will be no longer than 20 seconds. I want to create a black-and-white image in the beginning, with an owl flying across the sky, and there will be some floating objects around the owl. Then, the view gradually evolves into color. Next, the camera will move slowly to the right until it comes to a certain point, and then gradually zooms in. When the floating objects come to the center, the word ARTS appears in the scene.

After that, I will fill the word “ARTS” with various elements of art, such as guitar, piano and dance, by using links from Photoshop and Illustrator, and add some effects to them. Because the there is a rule that the ARTS logo must appear for more than 8 seconds, I will define this brand in 20 seconds and let the viewers know what the brand is dedicated to. Also, by using a design theme based on the freshness of Nature, I will explain to the viewers that ARTS is as rich and colorful as Nature and closely related to our daily lives. In the end, when the word ARTS appears, I will use some graphic effects using ripples and shadows. Most importantly, I will design this animation by relating it to the background of this brand, as well as the music I chose. The whole animation will be a perfect match to the music. Furthermore, in order to have originality, I will try to design and draw all the materials by myself, and those images will be processed using Photoshop.
